Jack Thompson had received the best supporting actor award at the Cannes in May 1980 and the movie was released in France during September of that year.The artwork reworks elements from other posters for the international release of the movie: a Mt. Rushmore like tableau of the three accused surrounded by scenes from the Second Boer War.
